Reaching out to sell-side analysts
My dad used to work at some large shops in the past but is now working for a small RIA. He still gets research from all of the major firms (JPM, BoA, Cowen, etc) through his network, but the firm doesn't pay for it. I'm in the process of applying to jobs, and I'm curious if I would be putting him and his friends at risk of losing their research and tarnishing connections to these banks if I were to reach out to analysts through their given contact info. What would I say if they ask how I got their emails?
Literally doesn't matter lmao you can look up equity research analysts and which companies they cover on Bloomberg or with a quick Google search.
You are fine. You got their emails through PUBLISHED research reports that are widely disseminated to institutional investors all over the world.
