Research Firms Chicago

Are there any smaller firms to move into in Chicago? I want to move into ER, but I’m coming from Hedge Fund Ops and I was thinking that looking at a smaller firm would be a good idea. I could be completely wrong but any help would be appreciated.

LiquidER:

I'd say reach out to directors of research directly. That's been how I've gotten all of my interviews.

Shoot them a cold email - Goodluck

Perfect. Thanks so much

I agree with the above. DORs job is to hire talent (at least part of it is).

Do you know what sector you want to work in? If WB is hiring on their restaurants team go ahead and cold email all of their restaurants analyst, etc.

Also I think a lot more firms have a Chicago office so don’t limit yourself to those. If you get an offer somewhere they probably have a Chicago office you can work at. I have a friend who used to work at a small bank (Stephens) and they even have a Chicago office with research.

Keep us updated on where you end up.
