Research Vacation During Christmas

Does anyone know what ER hours are like during christmas? Since it's the end of the quarter, are you working constantly during the holidays? It's my understanding that younger traders get two weeks off for christmas/new yeras, but I wasn't sure if this was the case for research because of earnings. Thanks.

First major company to kick off 4Q earnings season is Alcoa, which reports on Jan. 11. Don't hold your breath for getting two weeks off, but earnings will not conflict with Christmas.

I wouldn't expect time off but judging from friends' experiences, they had shorter days and often left right after the bell during the holidays.

It doesn't matter when the quarter ends - it matters when company's release their earnings. Typically 2-3 weeks after the end of the quarter. ER is MUCH more manageable hours wise from what I've seen because you work in small teams and only report to one MD.
