Serving notice period

Currently 2+ years into my ER stint at a BB in London but received an offer for another gig starting in early 2023. First time switching jobs so not super familiar with how to transition. My notice period is 30 days - do people know if banks usually expect you to serve the whole notice period? Or is there a way to exit within 1/2 weeks of submitting the resignation?

Not super comfortable discussing it internally so any advice is appreciated!
