Since I cant find a job
I'm wondering if I can just start my own company? I don't really have a background in finance or equity research but I'm wondering if I can start small time and offer similar services for free?

Keep looking, hiring is picking up...slowly...but it's picking up. Don't be picky, take what you can, and then leverage towards a better job.
