Stock pitch interview question
Wassup everyone, Have a final round ER SA 2021 interview coming up, and I have zero idea how to go about finding stocks to prepare pitches for. It seems like most people on wallstreetoasis think it's a good idea to pitch stocks that aren't huge companies (apple, tesla, etc.) How should I go about finding smaller companies to pitch?
Any advice on how to go about researching these companies and stocks would be extremely appreciated.

Pitch something in an industry that you understand.
It depends if you are interviewing for a generalist or sector-specific role. If it’s sector specific, I’d pick a stock from the coverage you are interviewing for. Otherwise, pick a stock from a sector you have an interest in.
As far as your pitch goes - it doesn’t have to be the next “big short” as I’d assume expectations will be relatively low, but there are a couple of points you should hit:
1) Basic introduction (ticker, mkt cap, valuation)
2) Business description (aka how the company makes money)
3) Hit the 3 main points why you’d go long/short.

I watch Bloomberg TV+ read the news a lot (I'm assuming you do the same). There's always an interesting stock that comes up=> they discuss catalysts, analyst expectations, macro environment, price target, valuation etc. Great place to start your research (in my opinion).
