Switching to NYC ER

I currently work in ER for a mm bank in Houston. I'm originally from the Northeast so naturally I want to make the transition to nyc ER. Any advice? Should I use a headhunter? I work long hours so it's been tough to really put an effort into the job search. Also at this point, I only have 8 months of ER exp, but I want to get out of houston asap.
