The Fast Lane to ER without an Ambulance!

Guessing that my title was catchy enough to get you to read my post!

I'm looking to connect with NON-STUDENTS (meaning no current undergrad or MBA candidates) who are looking to move into Equity Research from other finance jobs, consulting, other industries, etc. Please feel free to share 1) where you're at in the process; 2) what has/hasn't worked in your search and with networking; 3) how you've been preparing for networking conversations and interviews (please specify if you have a finance background or not); 4) whatever else you'd like to share!

I'm also in a situation where I'm currently working (about 2 years out of school at this point) and really want to land a position in Equity Research. Just hoping to get a discussion going here - so write whatever you'd like!
