To early to move to the buy-side (training)
Currently a 1st year analyst at a bank with a long established and well structured analyst program. I've seen many people with c. 4-5 yrs of exp leaving (and some people returning) from the buy-side.
But multiple buy-side opps I found required only 2 yrs of buy-side exp. However, I was thinking if 2 years of sell-side experience is truly enough training. Especially, since many buy-side roles don't offer as much training as the sell-side does (at least on junior level I assume). So according to your opinion, can you have "not enough" experience to move to the buy-side?
