Tool for analyzing annual reports and earning call transcripts

Hi everyone,

there are many discussions on the use and value of machine learning in financial analysis, especially related to the question, if machine learning will take away jobs in this space. At my company deepset, we are more interested in those applications where machine learning enhances human work e.g. through better access to relevant information (so information-gathering rather than decision-making). For this, we mainly work with machine learning methods for the processing of text data. We built a system that can process questions, asked in natural language, and extracts passages that serve as answer to those questions. We trained the model so far on annual reports and earning call transcipts and you can see a demonstration of the tool here: https://deepset.ai/questionansweringfinance

We would be curious to learn, if you guys see these applications as valuable for financial analysis. Happy to receive your feedback and ideas, how to extent this. In case you want to try the system, contact us.
