Transition to Equity Research

Hello all,

I’m a second-semester sophomore at a semi-target school. I’m in a good position where I am near guaranteed a job in finance (maybe not the best one but at least a job).

I need advice (and perhaps mentorship) with regards to trajectories related to my future working opportunities. Over the summer, I will work in a corporate treasury role for a relatively new tech company. But what I really want to do is to land that dream finance job in a buy-side equity research or portfolio management role.

What should I do between now and the end of my internship to land an Equity Research position? Also, what can I do to become more competitive in networking?
