Upcoming ER First Round Phone Interview (probably technical) and Knowing Nothing About ER
I applied to a sophomore equity research associate position at a top asset management firm a week ago and just received an email from an MD about first round interview. TBH I never thought about breaking into ER and without any experience in analyzing stocks. I do know about the comps (only by concept) from my accounting class but have never used them in real analysis. I applied just because the campus recruiting team sent me this position on handshake... However, I would be really happy to take this internship (if i could) since it's only sophomore summer and I'm open to all kinds of opportunities.
I assume this interview will be mostly technical given it is an MD not a recruiter. Should I be completely honest about my situation?
I would definitely do some preparation in technicals before the interview, but there's definitely not enough time for me to make it perfect.
Any advice would be appreciated!
