Really depends on the firm and team. At my bank they want everyone back in the office regardless of what your team wants to do. However some MD's have decided to go full remote.
As above said, depends on your team. From bank level there’s a push to have people in the office but my seniors absolutely hate going to the office so we barely ever do.
When you start it sucks because you don’t really connect with the team and it’s not easy to learn things. With time I prefer it but only because it means not having to get ready and go to work in person. Plus it’s super annoying to sit in work for an hour all day if you’re not busy. At home I’d just eat, watch tv or do anything else but sit at a table and stare at a wall.
