What is it like working in BD at a pod?

Occasionally I get incoming from recruiters looking to fill such roles. I've not found much out there about what the work at these pods/MMs is like on the BD side?

I've heard comp can be really decent. What about WLB? What type of people succeed in these roles? How stimulating is the job? Can you succeed if your a male and not a beautiful mid girl (serious)?

Only the juniors are women cuz they’re cheap labor and great fodder for getting young guns like yourself interested to talk to them. Their bosses are men. It’s a HH job with more performance analytics or infrastructure building responsibilities at senior levels. Many current HF COOs used to be early BD guys at the MM platforms when they were building out the operational know-how.

I have no idea about pay or how viable it is to get there today without first having a soul-sucking HH job for a few years
