Best Non-Fratagonia Vest
Guys,
I look around and there is Patagonia everywhere. I need a new vest but I refuse to look exactly like every other guy in finance on a casual day.
What are your suggestions on the next best vest?
Thx

Barbour
Agreed! Barbour Lowerdale vest is great
Arc'teryx
Which model?
Atom LT would be my choice if you want to use it on warmer days. They make great down vests too, but it might be too much if you are indoors, which would defeat the purpose of having it to wear on Fridays
Arc'teryx is awesome. They make some really great high speed gear.
Good call, for me it’s arcteryx or bust.
Barbour, Belstaff, and Peter Millar are all good options
Have an Orvis vest that I am very pleased with.
Pulled the trigger on the Orvis. Thx.
I've got an Orvis Trout Bum vest. It looks great and repels water too.
I have a navy J.Crew "quilted style" vest that I picked up for like $40 at an outlet that has been pretty good to me.
I have a similar one from J. Crew and agree. Feels good to have pieces from J. Crew/Brooks Bros that are a little less aggressive with logos than Patagucci and similar
I wear my Costco vest. Puts your snobby attitudes to shame.
LLBean, Mountain Hardwear
I really like my black, standard Columbia vest. It is rather low key but still looks fine with a button down. Why spend $110 on a vest when you can pay $30, with the only difference being the company's brand? Good looks on not being the five billionth person to buy a Fratagonia vest. It is the Canada Goose jacket of vests.
Wouldn't the Canada Goose vest be the Canada Goose jacket of vests?
In that order.
Second Vineyard Vines
totally agree
Why do you need a vest indoors?
So people know you trade bro.
I don't know about anyone else's office but mine was legit cold and my vest was perfect to keep me warm.
Agreed. Unless you're overweight and trying to look more slim, there's no need to wear a vest in the office. Even worse, short sleeved shirts in the summer.
Outside of Fratagonia, Arc'teryx and North Face
i've been rocking ralph lauren half zips. Don't @ me bro
REI is my go to right now in case you guys were wondering.
Walmart
Not a huge fan of vests. They're not all that practical or, in my opinion, fashionable. I'd go Barbour or J. Crew, and I'd probably avoid fleeced ones.
Gotta keep the core warm in a cold office without restricting movement of the arms, very practical
loro piana
Canali and Cucinelli as well.
.....
Nobody cares about the brand, you'll still look the same. If you are really concerned, get an argyle sweater vest.
Uniqlo ultra light down vest!

Supreme
Lax pinnie
Marmot is good quality
Uniqlo has some pretty nice ones
Go with Patagonia. It'll free your soul.
I honestly went to Target and bought their brand of vest. They look good, fit well and only cost $15-20. Plus they don’t have a logo on them. I bought black, charcoal and herringbone for less than the cost of one Fratigonia
Carhartt.
I like my Columbia and Vineyard Vines vests.
Patagucci is life
tbh patagonia is popular because they make the coziest most appealing soft clothes. sucks so many dbags wear it, but it is what it is
.
Zegna Sport Vests https://www.zegna.us/us-en/ready-to-wear/coats-and-jackets.html
Victorinox Beretta
Best vests I've found (in no particular order):
Barbour Columbia Orvis Arc'teryx LL Bean
I'm surprised there has been no mention of helly hansen yet. Their crew vests are warm enough for cool days and breathable enough to keep you cool enough for warmer days
Don´t know if it has been named yet, but Moncler makes great vests.
Who wears Fratagonia after college? Time to grow up and get on the Patagucci train while it's still at the station my man.

Orvis
There is a really cool start-up out of Cincinnati that is well funded called OROS. They use the same gel in space suits to make jackets and vests that are extremely lightweight but are very warm. Their jackets are as thin as a workout jacket but can withstand sub-zero temperatures pretty well
Check out their website, you might like the vests. They look sleek
