Are you on Wall St. or in a corporate setting? If the latter, anything goes.
Anything goes, but it's extremely tacky to wear bold colors.
I recommend you stay away from black. The worst I saw was a black shirt with a red tie, burgundy, dark purple, turquoise, etc.
I saw this get-up many many times while interviewing out of undergrad, and every time it was a confidence boost. I knew I didn't have to try when that's my competition.
Whites and lighter blues
If you work at the Verizon store.
Are you a Nebraska football player or a fascist Italian?
no black shirts
I would say no. White and blue shirts are most popular.
Wall St for a Boutique IB but it is a business casual environment.
Just make sure to undo the top three or four buttons and wear a big golden chain, and you should be fine. No undershirt obviously with this setup. Also make sure to have lots of chest hair, as well as spiky head hair from 3-4 tubes of hair gel.
Neck tats add to the overall look on this one too
Are you this guy?
Yep...except without the chest wax.
If you have a minimum of style, please: white and light-blue shirts in the office only. Black shirts are ok with jeans if you go out for drinks in Marbella, exclusively there. Maybe Madrid also. And whoever invented short-sleeved shirts shouldn't have left their logistics battalion after their tour to some Pacific islands.
If you're running a nightclub, then black shirts are ok
Black shirts are OK if you're in back office IT. Just be sure to wear your sneakers with your suit on the train home.
Does the marginal extra comfort of sneakers justify carrying around spare shoes all day? That just looks like a sign of defeat to me. You really can't stand your shoes that much that you can't wait to rip them off as soon as you exit your office?
Leave the shoes at the desk so they don't get beat up on the street.
black shirts are my favorite..especially with a white or red tie...ooo the tie just pulls it togetherrrrrr
Im pretty sure we discussed this once before.
Black pants, black shirt, white tie, white belt makes you the Most Ballingest Player.
Yeah totally, if you work in IT. Jesus.
Light blues, white, hell even lavenders and light pinks, but for the love of god don't come into the office wearing a black, dark purple, dark blue, dark red, or dark anything shirt.
It's time to grow out of that "Express for Men" look; dress appropriately.
white, lighter shades of blue, other neutralish light colors if you must. Not black
A black shirt is tacky as shit. Please never wear one.
Apply this mentality to most colored (uncommon) shirts.
Thank you.
Crap, I just bought a black shirt yesterday. I'm going to a prop trading firm for training. Would it be a bad idea to wear it?
I wouldn't recommend black either, especially if you're going to be wearing really dark/black pants. Also I find it tends to make ties either blend in too much or stand out too much.
Black is too bold for a corporate environment. You don't want to push people away from you. Go for whites, blues and even light tones of grey if you really want to incorporate black shades. Blues always look best.
Whites and lighter blues.
Black shirt enhances your complexion and is always in fashion, it goes well with white or off-white pants
Sure, back in the days of Studio 54.
And a bright tie too.
