I’d say it is worth it. Ive had numerous jackets from various brands. They would always be not warm enough or fall apart quickly.

The quality and warmth of a goose is worth it for the price. It lasts a life time as well. Plus if you are not used to the cold weather, a goose would help a lot.

Honestly, I live in Montreal and I rarely wear my "warmer" winter coat to the office..NYC is warmer than Montreal thus I'd say not worth it..plus there are other brands out there that are less expansive and OK..I'd wear Canada Goose style coat for a WE at the cottage..not even ski because it is too warm

I really like Patagonia since it's cheaper, just as warm, and the company is more environmentally conscious if that is a consideration. I live in a place colder than NY and it's been waem enough for me.
