SALE ALERT: Allen Edmonds Warehouse Sale

Guys, we have to put an end to all the repetitive postings on this board. So I don't want to hear any more SAs or first years posting about "what shoes should I get". The answer is here, right now. I swear to God I will lose my shit if I see any more of those posts.

Allen Edmonds is starting 4th of July sales early and just kicked off their warehouse sale with some of the better prices I've seen all year. Some of you will be just fine with the warehouse seconds and some of you will have the budget for something more but still at a very reasonable prices. It is very, very hard to go wrong with AE in business settings (well, don't get the monk straps). Even the factory seconds will put you in a better spot than anything else by Cole Haan and the like. So just choose yours and get some of the better prices you will see throughout the year.

My understanding is that it will vary by pair, but it's usually a small cosmetic imperfection in the leather that doesn't allow them to sell it as is because it doesn't pass their QC. But it shouldn't have any effect on the structure of the shoe or anything like that and I think most people would be hard-pressed to identify your shoe as a second. If you can afford the "regular" shoe, go for it, but I think the seconds are a good option for those of you starting out in your careers and building your first proper wardrobe.

I have 4+ pairs of seconds and only 2 pairs have had any defects that I could make out. The factory second fifth ave’s on sale right now for like $140 on the website are an absolute steal. I’m debating getting some even though I already have dark chili fifth ave’s.

AE isn’t as good as it used to be, but at this price point it’s a great deal.

Dude a guy in my office has the double monk straps and he actually pulls them off!.....I consider them all of the time but not sure I have the huevos rancheros to go for it.

I know 2 people who wear them, and both would wear them without socks. One was the biggest douche I’ve ever met in a professional work environment, and arguably the biggest douche I’ve met anywhere. The other was a coworker at the same firm - nice dude, just wore monk straps without socks.
