When do Walnut/Burgandy Shoes Become Acceptable?

As a 1st year analyst, should I wait to wear either of these colors in like a perforated wingtip style shoe? I don't want to draw any unwanted attention and any input is appreciated. Thanks guys.

My opinion is that if you wear those shoes and act like a d-bag/cocky then you will draw negative attention to yourself. On the flip side you can wear those shoes, be a normal person, and no one will care in the slightest. Realistically, I personally don't care what kind of shoes an analyst/intern/md wears as long as he isn't acting like a d-bag.

/two cents

Personally, I think these look ridiculous if you are wearing a suit. If you can wear khakis to work, then they're great. The brown shoe look with a suit always reminds me of the French guys that don't wear belts.

You think they look ridiculous cause French guys wear them? Confused. I think they'd go great with a navy suit.

I agree with what was said before, if you act normal and wear these you'll be fine.

My French friends wear belts. I don't understand the demographic/racial profiling? Picture?

BondarbWalnut shoes of the color and style you linked are pretty informal, I would only wear them in a business casual environment. They are good with a suit in social situations but not at a bank. Burgundy shoes shoes, which you didnt link but mentioned, are much more classic and are very appropriate in a business formal environment (provided they are conservatively styled).

Perfect, Thanks.

Here to learn and hopefully pass on some knowledge as well. SB if I helped.
