Where to buy slacks/chinos/dress pants?

Where do you guys get your pants that you wear to the office everyday? What colors should I get? Starting my summer internship in a few weeks and realized I only have a few pairs of pants for the office.

ROFL.

I know you're joking, but I prefer Burlington when not going on TV. Cheaper and sexier.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

Do most offices allow these? I have a bunch of them but did not think they’d be up to dress code?

Hit up your local Macy’s. You can find some decent stuff at reasonable prices. Look for pants that don’t require dry cleaning for convenience throughout the week.

Just go to Macy's. Look for a pile of Dockers and similar brands (e.g. Levi's has pants that are not jeans). Or a comparable deparmtent store or Express.

Try on lots of pairs to figure out the waist size and leg length that best fit you.

Matterial: get cotton pants that don't need ironing and can be laundered in warm water (no need for expensive dry cleaning). A little polyester or lycra is OK, but don't get more than 25% poly. I don't like wool because they require more care than cotton.

Darker colors, like navy / dark blue, gray / charcoal, black are all good. Maybe very dark green or purple / wine.  Avoid light / brigt colors, like khaki (let alone yellow / pink / orange).

Blanditiis quia et non modi sed aperiam et voluptas. Vel sit quos iure est.
