Work footwear advice

hey guys,

Wanted to ask about footwear for Banking.

I really like my Oxford style black leather dress shoes. You know the ones with the line across the front (toe part of the shoe)

Is that acceptable? or what would you recommend 1st year analyst to wear?

thanks in advance.

those are fine, what brand/model did you get? no recommendations but I would select one based on comfort rather than looks. not to say you should go loafers but comfort should be number 1 in the office.

it's funny your asking this forum for fashion advice...

it should be somewhat common sense what to wear if you are in a finance / banking type of environment....

If you really dont have any clue just ask your career center.

Style and brand are based on your personal preference...you shouldnt ask this forum for approval on what to wear. otherwise you are just a monkey / tool.

Hi

Shoes is really good.... but it is only used for formals and what about casual you cant wear this shoes

I think both those shoes are fine. First shoe especially for banking. Seriously consider comfort when buying shoes. You'll just throw away your uncomfortable shoes due to the long hours so don't waste money.

This is a fairly classic Allen Edmonds Park Avenue shoe that is popular for wearing with suits and I've seen tons of guys wearing them around the office. Comfortable, well constructed, and just about as no-nonsense/classic as they come. http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/product_590000_1_40000000001_-1?ca…

Those Brass Boot shoes are okay, but a little 'khaki casual' for my tastes. Gucci loafers are worn by half my office. They are classic loafers and are a little dressier than your American loafer.

When I think of square toe shoes, I think of these (which are DEFINITELY not good for the office). If there was ever a shoe that would make you look like a dbag at work, this is it: http://www.aldoshoes.com/us/men/shoes/dress-lace-ups/81094925-amalong/97

I personally like wearing loafers. I hate lace ups but I have a super comfy pair of Bruno Maglis that are the most luxurious, comfortable things I've ever worn. They have a little stretchy material on the side that allows for some stretch. And the leather is like butter.

You won't be wearing suits every day.

You never answered my question of why square-toed shoes are so awful. And why would someone be considered a dbag at work for wearing those shoes?

Because they just don't look good and are often associated (correctly) with very cheap shoes from the local mall. Just buy a few pairs of nicer shoes, they'll last a long time if you take care of them and they're definitely worth the investment.

Hi, Eric Stratton, rush chairman, damn glad to meet you.
