So this is 100% serious, frankly your odds are not good based on school, experience, and GPA, and you will need someone to take a serious chance on you for any real IB job.

So, you need to network your ass off - preferably with alums from your school of there are any in IB around you - and be flexible, maybe take a position as a research assistant/intern/etc. Focus on your alums because I imagine the UT crowd will look down on an SHSU degree.

CFA and WSP are good starts. You can't do Series 7/63 etc until you are working.

Think realistically too - how many grads from better schools in Texas (Rice, UT, etc.) with better GPAs and work experience will be looking at those same jobs?

Ok that's really all I can commit at this point just in case of troll.

Agree with frgna. You're screwed. You're waaay too late to the game.

Maybe try to get an accounting job in the energy industry (given your location) and then MBA? Even that will be tough because you don't look very good on paper at the moment (and it'll be hard to get an accounting position with a finance degree for the same reasons frgna mentioned).

I'll do what I can to help ya'll. But, the game's out there, and it's play or get played.

I think this is a pretty good plan, and absolutely nail your GMAT while you're at it

Another suggestion, assuming you're okay with school, why not declare a second major? Accounting? or minor, CS/Math?

Being in school is like being Cinderella. You're beautiful while you're a student, but when you graduate you're just unemployed and not doing anything to learn more skills.

Might as well push your midnight back another semester or two to get some internships.

I'll do what I can to help ya'll. But, the game's out there, and it's play or get played.

"Basically, I'm disadvantaged on the grand scale of investment banking credentials." I am so sorry to hear this. Will somebody please help this disadvantaged young man?
