A FoF internship could be a good stepping stone to get into HF?

Hi guys,

I am about to complete my academic cycle with a MSc in Quantitative Finance. I have a good quantitative profile as I also graduated with a BSc in Statistics and I have decent programming skills. I have an opportunity to intern in a big firm in its FoF line of business. I would like to get into Trading/Quantitative Research/Algorithmic Trading in an HF but I am afraid I don't have enough experience to get in now, could you give me some insight about FoF? Is it a good start for what I want to do after?
