BB Asset Management >> HF

Hey guys just had a question about asset management and what exits we consistently see.

For context: I am an incoming AM SA at a top BB (JPM/GS) in a top group, and am wanting to eventually exit into special sits (I know is extremely difficult) or L/S at a MM.

I know a lot of these seats are reserved/taken up by the typical IB>PE and S&T guys but was wondering if anyone had some insight into similar stories or just some advice on how to break in from my position, anything is appreciated.

L/S at a MF? What does this even mean? I think you might struggle to get a L/S equity gig at KKR.

LO equity analysts are frequently hired by MMs for L/S.

Lol, was a little confused for a sec. But thank you for the insight, I got surprising piece of mind from that.

I’m assuming special sits or even event driven in general would be extremely difficult unless having the background?
