Adding FullyVested's list: WhaleRock, Brookside, Stockbridge, Shawspring, Altimeter, Adage.

Baupost, Acadian (technically) / BrightSphere

A lot of shops starting in Boston these days, the place is slowly becoming a combination of CT and NY.

3 YR Annualized return of ~17% solely from their 13F. Investors can choose if they want their money in the public markets or in private equity. They also have a VC angle going on there. The style is to look for tech stocks with misunderstood moat and or a turnaround story, kinda like investing ahead of the curve.
