they recently laid off quite a few traders, that is probably where the comment is hinting at
They have pretty strong returns, not sure what you are talking about… Also, this comment checks out considering they are mostly macro RV, quant, and digital stuff, and you are in equities.

Can someone in the RV space pls back me up? They have a few good traders but the talent drain is definitely real and they will lose everyone to places like capula and places with better economics like the pods. Their flagship fund has performed abysmally the last few years. Only decent returns as of late have been in crypto. Check Bloomberg. They’re also running risk limits absurdly tight on some tenured ppl. I have a buddy working there rn although we haven’t talked much lately.
You just can’t teach an old dog new tricks. The discretionary macro trader PM is dead and you can just watch how they’ve performed over the years to confirm that. It’s time to put the nail in the coffin soon.
