bridgewater FT offer rescind
heard some rumors from a friend that Bridgewater began rescinding some full time offers. Does anyone know anything about this

I know interns who had their summer positions at Bridgewater cancelled, but can't speak to full-time. To be honest, I'm quite surprised that they cancelled internships, especially as other funds like Citadel and DEShaw are going through with their programs.
Bridgewater was also down 20% in Q1 and may be facing outflows. Citadel is crushing it. Not sure about DES.
Heard DESCO is doing fine - I have friends working/interning there, I'll ask how it's going.
Not what I heard on the quant side.
have heard the quant side as of late is more "we have phd's from MIT" than "look at our returns"
Read on BBG and through a buddy who joined Citadel in March, those guys were also extremely well prepared and well equipped to deal with the covid crisis. Put a TON of emphasis on business continuity so from an intern perspective, wouldn't be surprised if it's "status quo" (ie not cancelling..)

Wait so bridgewater interns just got screwed over? I cant see a place like Bridgewater just giving all interns auto-FT offers with their culture the way it is, but please (and gladly) correct me if im wrong
Yep - know a couple who had to scramble looking for internships at the last minute.
