Capital Raising: What do Dir of Reseach/Invesment Comittees Look For??

Hello All,

I've been working for an emerging manager in the LitFinance space for over 5 months now and I raise capital on the west coast where I speak with SFOs/MFOs as our fund offers a great income component between settlements which seems to attract this investor group. I just have a few questions for either experience capital raisers, Dir of Research or anyone within a capacity that reviews or pitches investments for firms/institutions.

First, We meet most of our investors at conferences where we sit with individual investors to pitch our fund but these events usually are spread out once a quarter. In between that time marketing efforts have been cold calls/emails and referral introductions through a firm we work with in NY. My question is fairly simple regarding inital calls or emails to analyst or director of research individuals;

When sending intro emails is it just best to keep it as short as possible highlighting the fund's strategy and a few bullet points while attaching pitch deck/DDQ? Or what makes emails more readable when submitting funds for consideration?

What key points do you look for in intro emails or calls which makes it worth your while to not hit the delete button. Thanks.
