So nobody has any thoughts on Worldquant? This forum did not have any insights on worldquant though? Any one wants to give some grain of salt?
never heard of chopper trading but i'm guessing that other post will help u there. worldquant is a top notch quant fund (think aqr, deshaw, etc). they were a part of millennium then spun out.. very very smart people work there.. let me know if you have any more questions.
elfty, worldquant is said to have a high turnover rate though. Any thoughts on the risk?
I've heard that worldquant is a sweatshop for junior people. But this is 2nd-3rd-hand knowledge, so take it with a grain of salt.
totally different lines of business. heck, even aqr and shaw are very different places @elfty. also, talk to the specific teams you will be working with - that's more important than the firm as a whole. both these companies do a lot of different things.
Worldquant is a swetshop. Even worse than citadel. But between that and chopper, i would still take worldquant since it's a better name, better pay. Chicago prop trading firms are not a good place to start your career with a few exceptions.
