Cold Emailed Fund Manager--he set up a call. What should I expect?
Fairly non-traditional background. Currently in medical school, seeking a career in finance. Cold emailing lots of firms for summer internships.A fund manager at a smaller (~$400M L/S) healthcare focused replied and set up a call with me to "briefly chat" and cc'd his director of HR as well. Not sure what I should be expecting to discuss. Any insight?.…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………Edit: he basically assessed my overall intelligence (coming from very, very non-targets) and provided career guidance (he has a similar background) and forwarded resume to some colleagues at other funds.
He's probably interested in learning what you typically use to overcome headaches and migraine. Appears that his HR colleague might have the same issue
Not sure why it would be anything else. It’s not like you cold emailed him for a summer internship or something.
I'd have an elevator pitch for a stock ready just in case at the least and be prepared to answer some follow up questions
Just had a similar “networking” convo with a fund manager. It could be anything but he will probably gauge your interest in the markets in the conversation. Have a stock ready that you like, and make sure you can talk about your PA if you have one.
