Commodities Trading Case Study. What should I expect if it is technical or non technical.
Hey guys I got to the final stage of a commodities trading conglomerate next week. I was told that there would be a case study and "no need to prepare" as I would be guided through by the interviewer and its more about how I got to my answer than the answer itself.
From personal experience I am fairly certain that the advice to not prepare for this case study is bullshit and its better to show accuracy in answers.
The issue is this is my first final round for a front office role and I don't have any clue as to what kind of case study I will get. I don't really know what a case study is if I am being honest.
Will I be asked to build a trading model using python? Price options using Black Scholes? Explain how to use B Maps on Bloomberg?
Is this going to be a technical or non technical case study and what should I expect in either of those scenarios giving the business model of the firm (commodities trading particularly crude oil).
depends on the firm. In general, commodity firms are way more fundamentally driven than math/algos so I would read up on what's been happening in the markets (ie storage reports) to inform how you work on the case.
Thanks man will do.
