Computer Language for Equity Quant Traders

What computer language is most algo's for equity quant trading written in? For 2022, one of my goals is to learn a computer programming language and I'm interested in learning one I can apply to my career.

Note: I didn't study computer science in college so I'm starting at level 0. Any advice on what languages to learn first or best path to take would be great. I'm not looking to change career paths or become a quant, just interested in the field and would like to learn more about it and maybe try to implement some algo's in my PA in the future. Thanks

Defintitely start with Python, then pick up C++/# later. Once into it you'll understand the strengths of each for their roles. There's some good threads you can look up on here that address this topic too with links to good guides and resources.
