Based on the most helpful WSO content, your background in algorithms, data structures, and econometrics already provides a solid foundation. However, if you're aiming for a long/short (L/S) equity role or something quantitative, furthering your skills in computer science and statistics could be highly beneficial. If you're aiming for a quant-heavy role or want to stand out in L/S equity, continuing to build your CS and stats knowledge is a smart move.

Fundamental L/S? Nah, not strictly required. Between "nice to have" and "irrelevant" depending on the firm.
But can't hurt, given even fundamental investors will ultimately have to embrace technology.
While CS not necessary, if you’re a decent fundamental analyst candidate AND you can code/bring some quant tools then I’d put you high on the list. FWIW I spent some of my time between gigs learning to code and re-engaging with stats. It’s been pretty beneficial albeit not game changing.
