DE Shaw BBQ invite
Recently got an invite to a DE Shaw BBQ event in NYC/SF. I'm wondering if this is something that they send out to everybody.

I also got an invite, see y'all there. I got my invite via LinkedIn--I'm guessing the criteria for an invite was rising junior at a target, high GPA, high SATs (and a public LinkedIn profile).
What r the target schools for DE Shaw? Anyone?
I'm a rising sophomore with a not so good GPA (by DE Shaw standards I guess ... I've only heard of people with IMO medals, Putnam top 100 ranks working there). Let us know how it goes? I'm travelling so I wont be able to make it
I got an email invite about two weeks ago through their recruiter, and she mentioned they liked my resume (I applied as a sophomore BC why not), so it appears they don't only use Linkedin.
I went last year - the event is huge. If you are around the area, then go and take advantage of the nice food
