D.E. Shaw Renewable Investments Analyst (DESRI)
Does anyone have experience interviewing with or know any details about D.E. Shaw's Renewable Investment team? Through research it just seems like a separate entity that buys renewable energy projects/companies. Considered a PE group or just a renewable co?
My first job was at a renewable energy developer company. when I interviewed at DESRI they were interested to see if I had a grasp on project finance modeling, tax equity partnership structures, and an overall understanding of renewable energy project economics. I ended up taking an offer at Wells Fargo's Renewable Energy Environmental Finance Group which focuses solely on the tax equity financing side.
Any more insight into the interview process? How many rounds and whether they had a case study or not? If so, how was the case study?
I only did 2 interviews with them, the first was a 30 minute over the phone call to get to know me and the second was an hour over video call with questions more specifically about my renewable energy experience. I believe the third round would have been a modeling exercise or case study.
