Debt/Credit Fund Interview
All - wanted to get your take on where I can learn more about investing from a debt standpoint. Read the Moyer distressed debt book and although it is great, wanted to gain more insight to what debt investors think about vs. equity, not just distressed but investment grade/HY as well.
Any resources, books, etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
What you can do is go on a mutual fund company's website (ex. AXA WF, Vangaurd, T.RP, PIMCO, etc...) and read the descriptions of their funds. Public fact sheets on their sites will generally have market commentary by the portfolio manager explaining why the fund over/underperformed and how they plan to reallocate assets moving forward. Check out equity/debt/alternative/mixed funds and you can start to get an understanding of the different approaches across asset classes.
bump... sorry in sort of a time crunch. thanks
The Handbook of Fixed Income Securities by Fabozzi is where it's at.
Just recently had two MDs from PIMCO come speak at my school and they said FI people swear by that book. They call it the "Bible"
