Full-time jump from ER to HF

Does anyone have insight into the difficulty of jumping from an internship in ER under a good analyst to a small AUM HF? Would graduate from a semi-target with one strong internship at a small activist fund and the ER internship. Really just want to get onto buyside asap post-grad, not looking to get into a major fund. Please let me know if I am delusional or just need to network a lot.
