Full time recruiting after junior summer internship at HF?
Hello everyone, I am an incoming senior at a target university in Canada, after a hectic year of summer recruiting (11+ interviews), I landed an internship at a well-known hedge fund in toronto (1B aum). Originally, I intended to go into investment banking, but was unable to land an offer in that field, and I knew the career path/full time recruiting pretty well for IB. But now I am confused at what my options may be for full time. Any insights would be appreciated.
I have no idea how Canada recruiting works, but you're top priority is figuring out why you didn't get any ib offers. Be also prepared for the "Why did you do HF as an SA instead of IB?" question. Good luck, and network extensively during the summer
Thanks for the reply. If I choose not to pursue IB for full time and try for S&T, is there anyway I can salvage something out of this internship. TBH, I feel pretty disillusioned with IB after this entire summer recruiting process.
What tier school do you go to? (Ivey/Queens, Schulich/Laurier, etc.)

I do not understand why you are confused.
You just averted the catastrophe of selling your soul and the most valuable decade of your life in your early 20s to a bank for boring 50-70+ hour/week IB position where you will gain menial skills for a not-worth-it six figure salary ... to now a HF opportunity where (if you apply yourself and work hard enough) have the opportunity to ascend to a PM role in a few years (or more reasonably 5-10 years) where you can potentially make millions with a reasonable work schedule.
And you're confused?
Ya haha, the problem is that I will be heading back into recruiting for FT, because the fund I work at usually does not give return offers. I am confused because I do not know what opportunities will be available for FT, since I don't think most HF's usually recruit directly from undergrad (correct me if I am wrong). Let me rephrase my question, what FT jobs would I best be positioned to get with this internship?
