Best Non RX Sell Side seat for Opportunistic exits?
Title. Will be starting out in MM coverage. Want to exit to an opportunistic fund (hybrid value/ special opportunities/tac opps). Looking for funds primarily focused on non-control equity & credit, invest across the capital structure & provide flexible/bespoke financing solutions. I have no interest in distressed or traditional buyout strategies and plan to target funds accordingly.
I've been looking at:
- structured equity (converts, derivatives, nav financing etc) groups - concerned this won't give me enough credit underwriting exposure + unsure of the exit track record.
- Levfin & coverage - seem too "vanilla" and most seem to exit to direct lending & buyout.
I heard FIG (specfin) gives you exposure to securitization + M&A, financing, etc
Would love to hear any suggestions below. Feel free to clear up any misconceptions.

FSG groups that hold pen on the model could be an interesting play
LOL that FSG model died with Credit Suisse
MS, BofA, Santander still hold pen among others
Would go for a modeling levfin group than FSG - DB, BofA, Santander, UBS, etc.
Do Credit Research. They are far better than so called RX Analyst
Could you elaborate (type, exits you've seen, etc)? Thought it was more relevant for liquid credit seats and HFs.
