Fund of Funds FoF Rankings
Hi all, I tried looking for information regarding FoFs but wasn't able to find a comprehensive list online. I'm most looking for world ranking of FoFs by AUM and information pertaining to their returns, investment strategy and if possible the funds they are investing in. Would would be really grateful if someone could point me in the right direction to get this type of information. Thanks.
You arent going to find the underlying managers they are investing in, funds just won't give that up
Check HFM for fof rankings. They do a pretty good rundown of ranking by size and strategies.
As someone already said, fof's aren't going to reveal their secret sauce. Perhaps you could find out some of their funds by getting your hands on an investor letter that is only delivered to their investors, but you'd have to know someone. I work for a fof (not skybridge) but some of skybridge's largest holdings in a diversified fof are Solus, Linden, 400, Hildene, See, Axonic, Waterfall
Well if you mean Hedge Fund of Funds, then Blackstone BAAM (Blackstone Alternative Asset Management) is the largest HF allocator. Roughly $78bn in AUM. Other large ones are Goldman Sachs Alternative Investment Manager Selection (AIMS) Hedge fund group. JPM's group is fairly large as well. Not sure for PE FOF. There should be a good amount of info online about these groups. Hope this helps.
StoneRidge, Skybridge, BAAM, AIP (Morgan Stanley)
Take a look at their N-Q's on SEC EDGAR... gives you all you're asking for
Blackstone, GSAM, JP Morgan, UBS, Blackrock, Grosvenor, Lighthouse are some bigger FOF managers
All the bank asset management groups include large FoF's. Balckstone etc do a lot in seed/acceleration. Grosvenor is another very large one. A lot of old Hedge Fund's that are becoming Family Offices are transitioning into more FoF type offices as they seed PMs who spin out, i.e think Tiger, P72 who have a lot of successful people go through he firm (they still run regualr HF operations of course) Grosvenor, Tages, Blackstone, GSAM, JPAM are the ones I hear about the most in terms of the ticket size they write.
