GIC Public Equities

Hey everyone!

I've recently received an invite for GIC 2024 SA in their public equities team. Does anyone have any info on what sort of investment strategies they pursue (ie is it more pod-style such as P72 or long only etc.), as well as their reputation?

Any info would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance

Depends on location, but GIC's HQ will be in Singapore. Public Equities team is quite large, but it's a Long-Only shop. Congratulations on the offer too! My understanding (may be outdated) would be that the turnover is incredibly low, and even conversion from their interns is really low (there are times they don't convert a single intern). Most of the investment team are GIC scholars (can go Google that, and it's true at least from SG), and are some of the most intelligent and sharpest people around. And most of them actually went to the US/UK for studies so they are definitely a lot more westernised than what you would think.

(Ignore the tag, know some people)

Honestly can't shed too much light on that, for all the people I know are Singaporeans/PRs (more of the former) within the SG office. I also do know there are some that move from Singapore to other offices (NY) etc. so my understanding is that internal mobility within the offices is definitely possible and may be easier. Not very sure about the other way around. But those moving tend to be slightly more senior. Like VP/SVP level, and may depend on their field of expertise too. Can't add much colour to that, apologies!
