What does the seed money look like? Starting AUM? Any initial contributions from institutional investors? Is the founder well-known (in the sense that they have credibility in macro circles) and/or do they have a good track record, that you know of?
Are you based in the US or Europe?
Thanks a lot for the feedback. The fund is US-based, starting around 100mm AUM. I would take a small pay cut but get a piece of equity after 2 years..
Since it's the US, the decision is a little less clear-cut. The 100mm macro fund launch is very risky, but it may still be worth it. Ultimately, since this is mostly a "risk management" judgement, it's almost impossible to offer any advice.
