Not to give ya shit but isn’t it a little crazy to talk about places like this in the sense you can focus your recruiting at 1-3 firms. There aren’t that many IP at these places and they hire so infrequently it’s not like choosing between Goldman or JPM coming out of undergrad. Seems to be mostly dependent on whoever is recruiting at the times you are searching and ideally that aligning with the type of investing you want to do.

Flip side, don't you have to know who they are in the first place in order to try and keep track of when they may be hiring? OP's listed as working in PE, no one likes leaving these types of hunts in the hands of a recruiter who happens to find you at the right time/place assuming these funds even use them.

True and I do agree to an extent - I just feel like these lists are going to be super anecdotal, and even then it will be difficult to properly leverage in any meaningful way other than day dreaming. My sense has always been maintain/build a good network, and when openings arise you due diligence the opportunity. Investment philosophy/strategy being the primary factor to focus on for openings. Then again, I don't come from the background/pedigree that has recruiters/funds calling me up non-stop, and if I was an ivy + top banking + top mega fund candidate exploring public equities, the list would probably be more realistic for me to weigh.

Are you suggesting that, precisely because they are under the radar and don't have analyst classes, it might actually be more likely to get a response by giving these sort of funds a cold call for junior-level recruiting?
