Hedge fund out of College
Does anyone have a list of HFs that hire out of college? Investing is my passion, and I know a lot of people say that you have to go through the IB ringer before you can break into PE/VC, but is this a viable path at all/one that you can count on? I have found places like Point72, Bridgewater, and Citadel that all seem to have summer analyst programs that feed into full time positions for fresh grads, but how large are these classes, and how competitive?
Point72 has the oldest and most well-known training program on the Street. My friend is in it this summer-about 35 interns for the US office and 16,000-17,000 applications. So .025% acceptance rate. In comparison, the offer rate for bulge bracket IB is around 2%. Buyside roles out of college are in general a lot harder to get than banking.
What would you say the chances are out of HYP?
Hedge funds give fuck all what school you came from. You can’t hide behind your school name like you can in PE.
