HF green card sponsorship
Given the high turnover at HF especially at MMs, how open are HFs about sponsoring for greencards? How many years in do you have be for them to usually consider sponsorship?

If HF jobs are advertised in public, you could google them and see how many allow sponsorship. I know this is not the answer you were looking for, but that is all I had atm. sorry
I would advice against joining a MM if you want a green card. They do do it but the probability of your PM getting fired in 1-2 years is very high especially if the PM is new. If you can land a seat with a more established PM, you should be okay. Typically firms wait for 1 year before submitting your GC application.
Larger funds will sponsor you, but the process is long, so it's tricky to manage. One of my friends at a hedge fund got a green card (and then left the job) just before the fund began layoffs. The experience was brutally stressful, as it was clear the layoffs were coming.
