How do you handle the never-ending nature of this work?

Most jobs have finite work, ie we need to finish this deliverable by Tuesday. I've struggled with the fact that in investing, you are never done - you could work 24/7 and there would always be more companies to look at, more analyses to do, more things to read, etc. How do you manage this aspect of the job psychologically?

You have to enjoy it obviously.  Yes you can always do more,  but that's the case with any job.  If you actually enjoy it, it doesn't feel like work.

But to answer your question, do what you can with the time you want to allot to it.     Realize that you can't do and learn everything.  At some point, you'll feel comfortable.

Good to set artificial boundaries around specific things - have started to build out a more detailed personal + work calendar that goes out for the full year to allow me to have specific goals to go after within personal, and reallocate accordingly based on what comes up w work and where I want to focus and get ahead. Would look up Jesse Itzler’s stuff - this blends well with work that never ends (he’s more from the entrepreneurial side but similar nonetheless). His schtick is that naturally work will flow in so it’s good to set specific recreational or personal (training / hobby / etc) that you look forward to and re-orients your perspective to not always feel like you’re catching up on personal items. Obviously some of this will move but helps you to reorient and consciously prioritize which aspects you want to spend time on - vs feeling like you’re reacting to what’s in front of you at all times

yeah felt that, information overload

that's why I couldn't do HF, I am a freak of getting into the details, so I would die of a heart attack on ur seat
