Opposite is going to happen - breakdown of globalization and the credit rating of the United States means that the welfare state fails before it could somehow be bailed out my magic AI panacea.

 

If AI works out as some massive labor replacement, capital is not throwing $1T of CapEx at the problem to hand all the gains back to labor.  I'm not even sure how UBI would work given peoples innate reaction to having free time & no responsibility (see COVID lockdown period & civil unrest).  

Hard to see how its going to make lives better in the maximal case.

In the incremental case, we all get 15% more productive and unemployment ticks up a bit.
