The Middle Office team at HRT is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of HRT’s post-trade platform. Our global trading platform supports trading across many asset classes and geographies. Middle Office designs and operates the systems and processes that reconcile the firm’s trading with our various brokers and counterparties. Due to the high volume of trades and complexity of the system, we rely heavily on automation and are looking for candidates who have exceptional attention to detail. In addition to reconciling trades and positions around the globe, HRT’s Middle Office will collaborate with multiple teams to research corporate actions, maintain commissions programs, and track all costs incurred by our trading.

This is an entirely new position supporting HRT’s more manual trading flow. In addition to the below items, this individual is expected to be a subject matter expert in all aspects of FX trade support as they will help guide the continued development of HRT’s FX platform:Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Ops, Post Trade, and Accounting teams to identify improvements in the current workflow as well as assisting in the implementation of those improvements
  • Articulating the trade-life cycle of FX products to include spot, ndf, forward, swaps, and futures and experience with trade corrections/breaks/etc
  • Documenting complex processes to develop Middle Office guidelines
  • Managing the onboarding and integration of new technology and trading platforms
  • Reconciling daily position, cash and PnL breaks, coordinating with both internal and external parties to complete reconciliation
  • Familiarity with FXPB processes and portals
  • Maintaining & processing applicable changes in settlement processes for FX products such as settlement holidays
  • Ability to quickly pivot and adapt to changing internal and external goals
  • Experience analyzing and tracking performance on exchanges

The Profile

  • Three to five years of previous experience at a bank or asset manager with a focus on FX products, exchanges, and trading systems.
  • Strong knowledge of FX settlement across products and trade correction/reconciliation.
  • Experience with Bloomberg and FXGO/FXEM/etc strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of trading infrastructure and platforms
  • Familiarity with exchange protocols for FX a plus
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases is a plus
  • Knowledge of UNIX operating systems is strongly preferred (we use Linux)
  • Some experience in Python is great (although not required), but eagerness to learn is required
  • You have excellent communication skills and enjoy working closely with people across multiple teams
  • You take ownership of your work and are willing to admit and learn from mistakes
  • You can debug, analyze, and troubleshoot problems quickly under pressure
  • You truly like to work with people who challenge you and help you improve
  • You are skeptical by nature and have a high attention to detail
  • You are excited to work independently in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
