For context I’m an Incoming analyst at a lower tier BB within one of their ‘top’ groups after graduating from oxbridge. I’ve always loved public markets investing and would love to go down the HF route but don’t know what recruiting is like compared to PE. Would I need to lateral to an upper tier BB first?

I know this is a stupid question and I'm guessing no one worth their salt gives a shit, but does gpa matter if you recruit after a banking stint? Is a 3.5 game over?
