How to Download CLEAN SEC Filing Tables?
One thing I've always found very annoying is that the tables in SEC filings (10-ks, 10-qs, etc.) are very poorly formatted, which makes it hard to plug-and-play in excel. The excel backups you can download from EDGAR aren't really any better. Anyone know of free or paid services that allow you to download all the supplementary tables (not just the main financial statements) in a clean, easy-to-use format? Don't think Capital IQ, SNL, or Bloomberg work well in this case (but happy to be proven wrong).
I've had success with Able2Extract. Converts PDF/HTML into a manageable excel format. Has saved me countless hours with recreating exhibits from filings.
BamSEC also has an export function, but I use their search wizard more often.
Hope this helps.
I think Sentieo does a good job
